The Homestead on STEAM

The Homestead is an extremely detailed real-life encapsulation of an iconic art gallery based in Auckland, New Zealand. Next to our other experiences such as Nefertari: Journey to Eternity, this is technically likely the highest level of detail photogrammetry capture in the public domain. Achieving close to photo-realistic sense of truly being there.

The art-work in this lovely Victorian abode was captured independently from the environment. Scanned at a level of detail not demonstrated in any other traditional VR experience. Hence the 24GB file size.

This experience is a teaser of what is to come. A living, breathing art gallery with dynamically & accurately represented real-world content constantly dynamically changing overtime. Brought in and out of exhibition. In addition, expansion of the space to the entirety of this beautiful place will be eventually unlocked in it's grandeur. Though for now. Do enjoy this uncanny experience of realism. The art collection in question is held by Sir James Wallace and the Wallace Trust. His collection is extensive.

New Zealand Virtual Debating Chamber on STEAM

The debating chamber, where the New Zealand House of Representatives sits to debate bills and consider parliamentary business, is at the heart of Parliament House. The green leather seats, thick green carpet, and immaculate rimu panels are signature features of the chamber, one of the most iconic rooms in New Zealand.

Built 100 years ago in 1918, the chamber has served, and continues to serve, as the main meeting place of New Zealand’s parliamentarians.

Through the use of Photogrammetry, 3D scanning and Virtual Reality, the Virtual Debating Chamber (VDC) experience provides a guided digital tour of the chamber. Visitors, students, scholars and researchers will be able to view the chamber up close and personal at any time. VDC also digitally preserves this chamber for future generations.

He Tohu VR - The Treaty of Waitangi on STEAM

He Tohu is a permanent exhibition of three iconic constitutional documents that shape Aotearoa New Zealand: He Whakaputanga (known in English as the Declaration of Independence), Te Tiriti o Waitangi - The Treaty of Waitangi, and the 1893 Women's Suffrage Petition - Te Petihana Whakamana Pōti Wahine. This video explains how He Tohu is using virtual reality (VR) to increase learning and improve access to these three mana taonga.
